Gabriel

about

This song was composed for a good friend Gabe Mellan and performed live at his going away party. The atmospheric percussion present in this song was crafted from a hip hop loop. I wanted to give it a tribal flare and sculpted it to sound like the village percussion pieces I've heard down in the mountains of southern China. There is also a rhythmic pulsating tone featured in the song. I wanted it to appear as a distant message being transmitted. It's not actually Morris Code, but I wanted it to appear to be.

There is a depth and introspection in this song that reminds me of Gabe. He is has a very creative and unique way to view the world. I've known many influential people who highly value his opinion (self included), because he sees things from a creative point of view.
