about

This is the earliest work on this album, composed back in 2004. I Will Fly takes it's namesake from Isaiah 53; capturing the freedom that is offered to us by the sacrifice of one who loves us, even unto death, and beyond.

Instrumentation for this track was inspired by Moby, who was one of the first artists I was exposed to that showed me Electronic music could be just as expressive, organic, and creative as other forms of music.

The song was almost left out of this album since it was composed early on, when my production skills were not that honed. In the end it made the cut because it captures that spark of creativity and expressiveness that is on par with the rest of the works on this album. This song was among the first sparks of Soulflier.

Straying into territory occupied by bands like Moby, Massive Attack, Boards of Canada, and Radiohead, Soulflier blends glitchy electronica with organic folk sensibilities.
